The Final Print is a group project I worked on with +-18 other students over the course of 16 weeks.
It’s a detective noir game set in 1940s Harlem!
I took on a lead role, managing a team of +-10 visual artists and guiding them toward delivering cohesive, high-quality artwork. This position taught me a lot about time management and the importance of maintaining a consistent art direction.
In addition to my leadership responsibilities, I created two full environments featured in this post:
The Office, where our main character analyzes evidence and publishes articles to uncover the truth.
The Bar, where the main character interrogates potential suspects in a murder investigation.
I also had the opportunity to experiment with baked GPU lighting for the first time. By the end of development, I was responsible for lighting the entire game and ensuring the baked lights worked as intended. I’m proud to say this was a major success.
Overall, this team project was an amazing experience, and I believe that really shows in the final visuals.
